Dragonflies

More of the Dragonflies, I encountered on my Walk.
First off - a Halloween Pennant and then Bob Again - hovering around me!

Just an update on the weather here in Central Florida. It seems that TS "Fay" already has
lost much of her steam. Wind has picked up a little bit here, but so far only a few drops of
rain and relatively high clouds. Might be that this storm has been a bit over hyped as the
1st to make landfall here this year.

Quiet ahead of the storm…

Yep - it’s that time of the year again, when Floridians do sort of pay the price of living in paradise.

Nope - not talking of excessive heat and humidity. We got A/C to cure that ) at least inside.
What I am talking about are visitors, with innocent sounding names - like in the current
case - Fay. Yeah - it’s Hurricane season and after having been left alone for 3 years,
we will get some! In this case - hopefully - TS/Hurricane Fay will however be not entirley
dreaded - for she’s bringing 5-6 inches of very much needed rain. And when she will be
over my head - she won’t be Hurricane anymore anyway.

I myself took the time to use the last hours of sunshine to head out and go shooting!
While it was quiet - as it just is in peak summer, I saw some larger birds - Killdear,
Great White Egret View definition in a new window, Snowy Egret View definition in a new window, Great Blue Heron View definition in a new window, Tri-colored Heron View definition in a new window, a Willet View definition in a new window  - but
most of all Dragonflies. Especially one seemed to be particulary interested in me.
It hovered around me for quite a while - giving me the chance to get some
decent in flight shots, that I will show in the next days along with more Dragons!

I start out however with a very nice Tri-colored Heron against the sun, providing quite a
dramatic sight. And of course Bob. That’s how I call the hovering Dragon, who followed
me for a while.

Tri-colored Heron

these guys are so tough to ID - my guestimate is it being a red-tailed Pennant. But don’t take my word for it. ;)
