In Nature everything is unpredictable – and sometimes you encounter it in unlikely
Places. This was taken this morning at a 6 lane highway right at my office.
A young Red-shouldered Hawk
was taking a break on a radio tower – and the residential Mocking Bird
was making a point to chase that 4 times bigger bird away…

Awesome as always.
Wonderful captures…
I like the drama in that second one … very cool.. I can almost hear that young hawk screaming ‘Mummmyyy…heeeelp .. that little bird is after meeee!!!’
Klaus your photographs are breathtaking and so animated. I love the baby owl in the following post! Thanks for sharing your world.
Smiles
I love the leap of faith!
I’m sorry I posted late, I got my days mixed up.
You manage to get the most amazing shots.
Looks like a very young hawk. Great captures along the highway.
Well that was worth going to work for. Fantastic shots!
Great capture!
I love it!
That’s great. I have a soft spot in my heart for mockingbirds. They are so tenacious.
Beautiful photos!
Now and Then
wow amazing picture Is it a young one?
Such terrific shots, Klaus! Nothing unusual about that, all of your photos are terrific, but the birds in flight and action are really something special!
Such great pictures of the bird action. I wonder what the story is behind the little birds attacking large birds of prey. I see alot.
Klaus: Neat capture of the little hawk. I have seen this action a lot with little birds going after the hawks in flight.
So exciting! Birds in flight are always wondrous, but these photos have the drama too.
