Skywatch Friday No. 42

Go vist! – I mean – really! Go visit and see skies from all over the world or even better, participate yourself!

Last Sunday turned out to be a day of really intense Skywatch for me. After spotting a flock of Waxwings in
the distance, I began tracking them, scrutinizing every movement in the sky. Step by step I zeroed in,
only to see them fly away again. But finally it payed off and I got them close enough to get some usable shots.

Modelling Bird

The other day I got a great opportunity when leaving the Clay Island Nature Restoration project at Lake Apopka. This
beautiful Mocking Bird was sitting on a Fence close to the tree line, providing a pure black background since
the sun was behind the scenery. Fortunately I still had my flash mounted and for just one shot this beauty
sat still and let me take the shot out of the car.  Thank you, Northern Mocking Bird!
