Go visit the MyWorld site to see more of the world – or even to participate!

Continue to report on my recent “expeditions” I pick up at the Viera Wetlands and on how
the things develop in the animal community.
Still Birds are coming in from their roosting sites – like the Snowy Egret View Species info in a new window and go read ahead looking
for breakfast. Others are more concerned about building nests while the young ones enjoy their
flying skills.

Food however is the most pressing issue and you see Anhingas, Belted Kingfisher View Species info in a new window, Northern Harrier View Species info in a new window
and many others scurrying the grounds.

Birds can be seen of all sorts and sizes – from Loggerhead Shrike View Species info in a new window, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Pied-billed Grebe View Species info in a new window
to the huge Great Blue Heron View Species info in a new window. Some Mammals like Raccoons and River Otters can also be observed
in their natural environment.

And then I run into one of the “Stars” of the Birding scene. It’s Birdchick (Sharon Stiteler), that many of you
know from her site as well as from seminars and tours all around the states. That was fun, for she’s not only
a great birder but a wonderful person!
