My World today shows the highest Observation Point of Central Florida – the Citrus Tower.
Built in 1956 in Clermont, Florida, the tower is 226 feet tall. The Florida Citrus Tower is notable as the most famous landmark of the Orlando area; its top is the highest point in Florida, and it is the highest observation point in Florida. Architecturally, the tower is utilitarian .
The Citrus Tower includes a wishing well, where you can hear your coin drop all the way to the bottom, and all proceeds are donated to Green Isle Children Ranch.
This is a wide view from the Tower – facing West. Visible are several of the thousands of lakes, that have given the county the name Lake County. Tomorrow I’ll be showing a fairly huge 360 degree Panorama, shot from the Tower.
Looks like you can see forever! I like the idea of the wishing well.

I remember driving by the Citrus Tower while visiting my grandparents years ago. They had a winter place in Lake Placid. Oh, just thinking about Florida is warming my toes. LOL (We woke up to snow this morning)

Now why do they call it the Citrus Tower? It’s not even the color orange! lol!
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the idea of 5 million pounds of concrete. Wow!
And those views are making me feel a little tipsy.
My kids would love dropping all the change in my bag down that tower, just to hear it tinkling at the bottom. Such fun!

I have been looking for some history about the cemetery. The Little Miami River runs between Corwin (where the cemetery is located) and Waynesville. That might be where the Miami comes from. I am researching the Library website now to see if I can come up with a link to add to my post.
