What a curious creature! What a great shot. How can something so big and shapeless be so cute! There’s just something freindly about that face!

I got that one in Homosassa Spring’s Fish Bowl, shooting out into the open water.

The Manatee holds a special spot in my heart! I have a dear friend who lives on the Weeki Wachee River. The river runs in back of her house and was brackish, only a mile or so from the ocean. Oh, the hours we spent sitting on her patio chatting while we watched these gentle giants swim up and down the river.
Oh My!! Your photo made me laugh. It is so cute!

That is a wonderful photo! I got to see one of these gentle looking creatures at the Columbus, Ohio Zoo last year and was just fascinated! They are so strange looking and yet beautiful at the same time. They look so fat….sort of like blimps in the water. Wonderful!
