From the field to the table – is my EST edition of ABC Wednesday. Today it’s "G" and
I will sport a Giant Swallowtail
. Aside from him I saw tons of butterflies – the season
starts for them right about now. Unfortunately not only they are out there – I got bitten
like never before today – about 20 bites just around my neck – I guess Mosquitoes!
So here’s my Giant Swallowtail and visit the ABC Wednesday homepage for more!

Hi beautiful! Watch out for that little bee on the other flower! Love your makeup, style and design!
Klaus: Really neat photo of this guy on tiptoes.

Hi Ann,
My images are a mix of older and new pictures. This butterfly was shot the day I posted it. For my second “G” shot – the first two are less than a week old – the 3rd shot about a year ago.
Cheers, Klaus
Love the colours in your butterfly! For me, this is most unusual! Such a beautiful pic!
Amazingly crisp and colourful picture.
Wonderful photo… we got snow on the mountain last night, so I don’t think we will be seeing many more butterflies. Sorry you became lunch, but I guess that it “is the season!”
Now there’s a balancing act!
What a great close up of a lovely, delicate creature! Sorry about the bites but I’m glad you got the snap!

A real beauty! You need some deet repellent, Klaus! Besides the itching and aggravation of the bites, you should also be concerned with the nasty diseases mosquitoes carry. Do I sound like your mother? hahaha!

Ha! Now you’re telling me! But seriously – I’ve never been bitten before in the places I were this morning. Ever! So I didn’t put on repellent, that I have always with me. Believe me I did! Afterwards – for the rest of the hike. Problem is – that there is a lot of shallow water form the rainfalls and unbelievable amount of these stinging critters all around. Bummer!
I like your swallowtail photo. I must say that we have had a shortage of all kinds of butterflies here but then a lot of people spray everything with chemicals and never give much thought to the environment.
I only got one Grumpy Alien posted for “G.” He is at Thunder Maker

wonderful post for ABC Wednesday. What a spectacular shot!
Another fabulous butterfly picture for me to be envious of. This one is incredible! Not sure I’ve seen that kind before, either, or maybe it’s just the angle. Very beautiful creature.
I DON’T envy the mosquitoes!
