It’s a nice shade of blue. Can’t believe all the birds and nests in the tree. And the moon is to die for!

What perfect positioning this is; the bird just under the moon. A perfect nighttime ‘blue’ capture! I would love to capture a shot like this one. This has to be a favourite.

That is an interesting shot - and you captured a lot with minimal light. I see one cormorant - what are the other birds?

They are all Double Crested Cormorants. A mix of Adults and young ones - which are brownish and lighter in color. No other species (other than Anhingas) are being tolerated in a Nesting Tree! ;)

Thanks, Klaus - I’ve only ever seen an adult mature Cormorants on rocks in the water - I didn’t realize the young have so much white on the chest and there seems to be a lot more orange coloring on the beak (I didn’t even know they nest in trees)!

Yep - it’s a bit confusing! If you check my Cormorant Gallery (Look up top and select Virtua Galleries and select Cormorants, you see a closer look at a youngster pretty much at the end of the gallery)
    Cheers, Klaus

Great looking photo with birds pointing to the moon.

I’m glad you shared my view about the hidden sales tax - in the UK businesses that deal mainly with other business (who can reclaim the tax) can advertise net prices but it is always very clear on every sales ticket, page of a website or printed catalogue that the prices are (ex-VAT).

I think this is a remarkable photo. There are several things I like about it but what keeps drawing my attention is the clarity of the moon. You can even see the craters and shadows in it!
