    I like the catbird shot. I have never seen any around here. Am I right in thinking that they are called a catbird because of the call they make? I believe that is what somebody had told me.

    Yep - that is correct - at least partially - they have something in their huge repertoire, that resembles a cat’s meow! :) But for the most part they are more similar to the songs of the Mocking bird and only second to them in terms of variety of songs.
