Here we go again – a new Week and a new double Skywatch feature! The Greenwich Mean Time Edition features one of my favorite spots – a little hidden and overgrown pier at Bear Lake, that opens to the view shown below. Despite having no shelter from the searing Florida Sun and heat, it’s a good place to be.
Tranquil, quiet and relaxing. Dragonflies whizzing around, Alligators lifting their heads out of the water, young ones seeking shelter right under the pier. Occasional visitor to the tree trunk on the left are Puprle and Common Gallinule, Green Heron
and Great Egret, in the trees to left and right Grackles mingle with Red Winged Blackbirds and in the large Bald Cypress Trees around the Lake more than one Osprey
nest can be found. In short – it’s a pretty slice of heaven. (Sunburn included for free)

This is ia Florida I have never seen. It doesn’t LOOK hot. It doesn’t LOOK humid. It looks beautiful and peaceful and perfect. The picture, especially the reflection, is fabulous.

The reflection in the lake has been wonderfully captured. I do like the blanched branch (!) on the right. Its squiggles add just that bit of wild to the image.

Oh, wow….! I read something today re: tips on leaving better comments. Let’s see if I can do better. I love this picture. The sky is beautiful and equally reflected in the water. And then you’ve got this nice little slivery branch looking like a snake to add just a little something in the corner and it’s also got a reflection in the water. I know sometimes these things are planned, sometimes they’re just there to capture. Either way, great pic!

Love your photography!!!
It sure is a pretty slice of heaven! Ignoring your description (heehee), the landscape looks too quiet, relaxing and cool for any wildlife or sunburn to change that! Extra cool one Klaus!
