Here we go again – a new Week and a new double Skywatch feature! The Greenwich Mean Time Edition features one of my favorite spots – a little hidden and overgrown pier at Bear Lake, that opens to the view shown below. Despite having no shelter from the searing Florida Sun and heat, it’s a good place to be.

Tranquil, quiet and relaxing. Dragonflies whizzing around, Alligators lifting their heads out of the water, young ones seeking shelter right under the pier. Occasional visitor to the tree trunk on the left are Puprle and Common Gallinule, Green Heron View Species info in a new window and Great Egret, in the trees to left and right Grackles mingle with Red Winged Blackbirds and in the large Bald Cypress Trees around the Lake more than one Osprey View Species info in a new window nest can be found. In short – it’s a pretty slice of heaven. (Sunburn included for free)
