Klaus: I’m afraid of a raccoon in the daylight, we have had several cases of rabies with these guys that are out during the day.

Uh-oh! Varmint alert! Bring in the bird feeders! Great close-up! My coons always sneak in, in the dead of night and I seldom get good photos. Of course what I really want is no photos and no raccoons!

Great photo Klaus.
Mary, do what I did. I bought a Hav-a-Heart type trap from my local Feed store, and I am now making country raccoons out of city raccoons. I bait it with cat food about 6PM, go out at 11PM and take the pesky little critter down to the Trinity River bottoms (30 min round trip). Lots of small pools with fish and crayfish for them to eat. I catch a opposum or raccoon about once a week. I turn the cats loose. The cats have learned not to go in the trap. Besides, the cats control the rats.
