Abc- Wednesday - “X”

18 Categories: ABC Wednesday •July 2, 2008

Phew - X is a difficult one! Got nothing more than a play with word, changing ecstasy to Xtasy, as it is often being done. And as that you can describe the ritual the Egrets go through to find a partner. For hours they immerse themself in displaying their feather costume, trying to look as impressive and large as possible.

Here’s one doing that (though looking a bit exhausted :) )

XtasyDon’t forget to check out Mrs. Nesbitts Place for more (and Better) X’s

This is sooooooooooooo beautiful! In my mind, there is something about the shape of the displayed feathers that is “x-like” too. Good choice!

Klaus: That is a great photo, the eye wear on this guy is really something. the green you captured in the eye area is amazing. The feather display is special.

    Great shot — very impressive!
We have egrets around here (around San Francisco Bay), but I’ve never seen this variety with the green on it’s bill — interesting…
Hope you are enjoying a fine X day.
