“A” stands for the Amur Leopard in my todays Post. A species that fights the odds to disappear forever.
With less than 50 animals in the wild those odds however are stacked aginst this large cat. It would be
a shame seeing this (in my eyes most beautiful cat in the world) being put on the long list of animals that we -
mankind - exterminated forever.

With all due respect - I no longer participate on the original ABC Wednesday. The new format - the well meant it might be - doesn’t hold the simple charm of the original. So - I will keep following the alpahabet on my own. You’re welcome to leave a link with your “A” post, so that I can come visit.
And if someone is up to reviving the original - I probably will be on board!

Klaus, I agree with your take on the new ABC format. I too was disappointed and put away my planned posting when I saw how it is now. Hopefully the older format will be brought back. Great leopard, great ‘A’ posting.

Great “A” post. Martha and I used to belong to a “save the great cats society” while it was active. This is a magnificant but sad post. Great photograph.
I also removed myself from the “ABC” list. It just didn’t have the flavor of the old style. I always enjoyed visiting each participant’s site and seeing what they were up to.

I have never heard of this particular leopard, and agree it is much too gorgeous a creature to lose forever.

Klaus, I would have to completely agree. stunning and amazing big cat. and I am not even a cat person (wink) I skipped on ABC this week also, but Ms. Nesbit just emailed that she would put Mr. Linky up.. will wait and see if it has the same simple charm as the old ABC… otherwise I may do it just like you did.. thanks Klaus!

Beautiful portrait of a beautiful animal…where do these cats live? We all need to do more in saving these gorgeous animals.
