In the Park II
Given our current weather pattern with Sun in the morning and heavy Thunderstorms in the afternoon, I went back to the park early to continue my walk and scout the woods. The light was just gorgeous, warm and bright and the whole area was brimming with an abundance of greens. Wildlife was sparse - but it was a Wildflower Festival. I saw and shot much more that I show here - I saw about 30 different species of Wildflowers - a fact that I will regret when it comes to ID them.
But - there were some animals, that I did run into. A cottontail that I never would have seen, if he hadn’t decided to dart across my path - so fast that I didn’t stood a chance to “draw”. Then I encountered a group of White-tailed Deer, two Doe’s and one Buck.
Two of them were pretty much oblivious to my presence, but one Doe was pretty weary, stomping and chasing the others away. However their behavior seemed to say: “Darn, she’s wired today! What’s wrong with her?” - but they duefully followed suit.
A Squirrel was convinced to hide beyond anyone sight - not quite so!
I also encountered lots of Mocking Birds, Bluejays, Nuthatches and Wrens with no chance to get to a good shot. I got however a beautiful Morning Dove and a Red-bellied Woodpecker. Add to it the sight of Turkey and Black Vultures soaring in the sky, the thankfully familiar Ospreys it turned out to be a wonderful walk. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

This is very beautiful, Klaus! And thanks fot the visit! Our country is easy for cyclists because it’s so flat. Sometimes the wind is so strong that cycling is not easy at all, however!

Weary Doe is a very beautiful image. I love the wildflowers and fungi, in particular i like the moodiness of ‘Symmetry’!

That was a wonderful walk! I looked through the pictures a couple of times. It would be difficult to choose a favorite. That purple mystery flower seems familiar.

Love ‘My Way’ and wish I could walk there each morning and see all the things you see. A very nice variety with lots of great flowers, mushrooms, deer and you are right - that squirrel was good at hiding!

These are simply beautiful. You could take a picture of a pencil and it would probably come out amazing! I went up to the lake yesterday and before I left saw a skunk. I couldn’t get one picture to come out right. I was so disgusted. That was such a rare thing for me and I missed it.
