A hot days work…

11 Categories: Photo-Journal •June 27, 2008

Oh my and it was hot! 115 degree F (46 C) in my car on my return. Yuk!! Aside from that however it was gorgeous. Hundreds of young birds of all sorts arranged for a cacophony of noise from all corners - and all pretty much said the same.
FEED ME !!
Spoken in Boat Tailed Grackle View definition in a new window, Woodstork View definition in a new window, Cattle Egret View definition in a new windowSnowy Egret View definition in a new window , Tri-colored Heron View definition in a new window, Little Blue Heron View definition in a new window, Great White Egret View definition in a new window and Common Moorhen View definition in a new window dialect. And these youngsters truly are bringing their parents to the brink of nervous breakdowns. They are aggressive - too much so, for their parents to stay a second longer than the feeding process will take. Elsewhere were beautiful Monarchs in droves around the Butterfly bushes. American Alligator View definition in a new window and American Crocodile View definition in a new window are very active and their eggs have been laid, mothers guarding the nests 24/7. But you better look for yourself! :)

Fantastic day’s work/leisure! I didn’t realise until now how different your Great Blue Herons are from our two most common Herons. My favourite is the Snowy Egret in Flight! I could rave on about how excellent all these photographs are but dinner is almost ready and I’m starving. FEED ME!

I love this post - what a cool way to do it! Thanks.
BTW - no big camera when I take my very excited pooch for a walk - she wants to run and cavort - and bark at deer!

The ‘Needs’ and the ‘Stressed Out’ are my favorites! So nice though, all of them. I don’t usually do this…but do you go to the Canon DPR forum? This guy took the most unbelievable pictures and they are not photoshopped. I know you will be glad to see them if you haven’t already. Check it out:

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Where do I start? The iguana- beautiful coloring! What was that big thing in the beak of that bird!!? Eeewww! LOL! That Little Cattle Egret is something else. And I love, love, love the slight blur wings of the egret in flight. Make it look like landing after breaking the sound barrier. :-D You are awesome!!

Wonderful slide show! I love the Great White Heron, the little Cattle Egret stretch, Snowy Egret, and Success in particular, but they are all great!
