Continuing my walk on the shores of Lake Louisa – here’s my loot on Butterflies. Happy of finding the more rare American Painted Lady, I ended the day watching the mating dance of some Palamedes Swallowtails.
A bit hard to catch, they were all over each other and pretty fast, it was fascinating nevertheless.
And then there was the smallest one – the Miami Blue. Difficult because so small and because his real beauty shows only with wings open – a stunning and very vibrant blue. In this case I had to neglect a bit the usual focus on the head area in order to provide an idea on how beautiful its colors are.

I’m not familiar with the Palamedes and to think they have a mating dance is just so cool! The lone shot looks almost like an art piece with a drop shadow – gorgeous.
