A beautiful day - and having sat on my behind for too long - I went out shooting.
Lots of activity in the park and the breeding season is in full swing. The Tri-colored Herons have arrived in force and are building their nests in record pace and laying eggs in equally impressive speed. I saw about 30 nests so far and 3 nests, that were built and had no eggs in the morning, had some in the afternoon. The place is just buzzing with activity. Woodstorks tripled the amount of nests this year, Roseate Spoonbills, having a hard time in the South because of the drought, seem to have another go. Great White Egret
also seem to have much more going on as in past seasons. The Little Blue Herons are coming in as well, along with Cattle Egrets and Snowies, but not yet in numbers. Aside from the Double Crested Cormorants, who seem to breed year round, I also saw the first Great White Egret chicks. To obscured by twigs to make a clear shot - but I am pretty sure that I will be able to deliver in a little while.
More photographers than usual as well - and I met a nice duo - Paul and Clint. Quiet, friendly and knowledgeable - well equipped Nikonians!
And yeah - sure do I have something to show for.

fav’s here, but I do want to mention ‘There You Go’ for the creative symmetry and “Flight’ as I like the transluscency of the wings… Great stuff~ all..
