3 Weeks after my last visit (shame on me for that!) - I opted to spend Saturday morning
in the State Park, to see how my Butterflies are doing. And despite it being overcast,
Butterflies were out and so I was able to shoot quite a bit.
Very few Zebra Heliconians and Gulf Fritillary
to be seen, which is kind of unusual.
And they were not approachable at all - so I hope I have better luck next time.
Longwing Skippers and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
were a total no show.
But - other than that - I would be quite a moron to complain.
Palamedes Swallowtail, Zebra Swallowtail
, Black Swallowtail
, Spicebush Swallowtail
,
Variegated Fritillary
and a few others were plenty - so I had reason to be happy!
Here - of course the Album Teaser!

A day late and a dollar short? (as they say here in the USA)……. but the more I look the more I find. I agree
with Ilona about the red berries (they almost look like jalapeno or habanero peppers)— I like your other berry
shots in the wildflower section.. and always admire these and all the flora macros. Love the passion flowers and the butterfly shots rock! sorry for my late responses:(

I like the shot of the prickly pear flower - the way the light catches the flower reminds me of a painting. It really is beautiful.
