Butterfly Expedition

3 Weeks after my last visit (shame on me for that!) - I opted to spend Saturday morning in the State Park, to see how my Butterflies are doing. And despite it being overcast, Butterflies were out and so I was able to shoot quite a bit. Very few Zebra Heliconians and Gulf Fritillary View definition in a new window to be seen, which is kind of unusual. And they were not approachable at all - so I hope I have better luck next time. Longwing Skippers and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail View definition in a new window were a total no show. But - other than that - I would be quite a moron to complain. ;) Palamedes Swallowtail, Zebra Swallowtail View definition in a new window, Black Swallowtail View definition in a new window, Spicebush Swallowtail View definition in a new window, Variegated Fritillary View definition in a new window and a few others were plenty - so I had reason to be happy! Here - of course the Album Teaser! 1st Prickly Pears 2008 Use the left and right arrow buttons to navigate the album pics.

A day late and a dollar short? (as they say here in the USA)……. but the more I look the more I find. I agree
with Ilona about the red berries (they almost look like jalapeno or habanero peppers)— I like your other berry
shots in the wildflower section.. and always admire these and all the flora macros. Love the passion flowers and the butterfly shots rock! sorry for my late responses:(

I like the shot of the prickly pear flower - the way the light catches the flower reminds me of a painting. It really is beautiful.
