Gatorland Feb 17, 2007

Categories: Photo-Journal •February 18, 2008

Another beautiful day and evening at Gatorland.

The pace of development is accelerating. Snowy Egret View definition in a new window start to show their mating colors - they actually look quite interesting with their feet turning orange. Same for the Tri-colored Heron View definition in a new window - their plumage start to show the the typical three pronged white feathers on their heads.

The Great White Egret View definition in a new window however are fully at it - Nests over nests everywhere - many already with eggs. And showing off the beautiful mating plumage is going on everywhere.

The Woodstorks are busy building nests as well - 3 so far, that look as if they are a done deal - which is 3 times that of last year.

While present - the Roseate Spoonbills are not active building - it is however still pretty early in the season, with no Cattle Egret View definition in a new window, Tri-colored Heron in numbers there yet.

Here’s a Gallery Teaser
