  18. Two in one frame — lucky you.

  19. Now that was lucky! I’ve on;y seen this when they are feeding a baby, and they don’t sit around together long.
    Very awesome Klaus!

  20. That’s two good my friend, nice work.

  21. wonderful composition – lovely depth of color

  22. Nice to meet you, Mr Otter !

  23. Awesome find and Capture, I think you called it correctly.

  24. Whatever it is, great job!

  25. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/12206632@N04] No – got ‘em before! But no usable pics… :)

  26. Way to go Klaus….is this an other first for you?

  27. The light is really nice on his face, even if you didn’t get your beamer operational.

  28. I take it back, Good Call Klaus, doesn’t match my books, but the link you posted matches great…

  29. I’m pretty certain that’s an accipiter based on the long tail. An RSH would have a more checkerboard pattern on the wings as well. Tough to tell in the shade, but I think you have the right call here. More than likely a first year juvenile.

  30. I have to agree with Klaus, the eye is not Buteo-esque nor is the tail. Fantastic encounter and framing

  31. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/scott2403photos] animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/birding/sharp-shin…

  32. Good Shot,I think you have a Juvenile Red Shouldered Hawk there, the white spots on the back and the black end of the beak, also to big for a Sharp-Shinned.
Then again it could be BBWD for all I know..

  33. Nice work bringing out the detail.

  34. The foot or so difference between your height versus my height made a big difference. I compared mine and there’s no comparison. Super!

  35. Baby gators are so much better looking than their elders.

Seen in my contacts’ photos. (?)

  36. Practicing to be a big gator!! Love the POV!

  37. Great pov Klaus, really like both the fore and background.

  38. Sooner or later … He’ll make great ‘gator bites .. .YUM , YUM !!
    That’s a cutie … for now ! .. love the low POV

  39. absolutely gorgeous shot, love the low angle, the colors, the bokeh, everything!

  40. Aren’t starlings a bird that plays havoc with native species? I think I heard that once.
